Why Happiness is Considered the State of Mind

Happiness and satisfaction are the state of mind. It can never be assumed that a person is happy due to too much money or having plenty of facilities. We can never say that a person is happy after being well settled. Rather we generally see poor people more satisfied than the rich. Then what is the thing for the poor to retain him happy, this is inner satisfaction. In other words we can say, the state of mind which makes him happy and contented. We take an example of such condition.

Why Happiness is Considered the State of Mind

Ashfaq Ahmad, who was a very known writer of Pakistan says that he has served for several years in Radio Pakistan and got posted at various locations. He also remained posted at Gilgit Radio Station. It was a small office but in a beautiful place. There a person named Ghulab, who was a low paid employee at Gilgit Radio Station and was doing duty as a office boy. Ghulab always remained unhappy and worried by his appearance. We never saw him happy and contented. We thought him unhappy because of his financial condition as his pay was very less. Ashfaq Ahmad says, "After few months I got posted out from Gilgit and was deployed at any other station and forgot everything about Gilgit and the poor employee Ghulab".

After many years again Ashfaq Ahmad got posted at Gilgit Radio Station. Old memories were refreshed by this posting. Now this station was improved and seemed to be better than its previous condition. He was in his office when he saw a very happy an contented person on his service. This person was so good at his conduct that Ashfaq Ahmad got impressed of the gentleman. The office boy, who got little old now, was ahead of any demands from his seniors and everyone was very satisfied by his services.

Ashfaq Ahmad was back to Gilgit Radio Station after many years, so he couldn't recognise the gentleman on his very first appearance. One day on inquiring from the gentleman, Ashfaq Ahmad got surprised that he was same Ghulab, who used to remain unhappy and always remained unsatisfied by his life, also he never worked to the satisfaction of his seniors.

Ashfaq Ahmad asked from Ghulab about the secret behind his happiness, whether he got too much money from anywhere or any of his problem has been resolved which had made him worried previously.

Then Ghulab told the secret of his happiness. He said, " Nothing has changed in my life, I have same financial condition as you saw me in your last posting. The only change is my state of mind to see things in different way". Ghulab told that one day, at early morning, when he got up. He was so much worried as previous, but before getting out of bed, suddenly a thought came into his mind, why I remain worried? Can anyone help him by seeing him in this condition, so why not to remain contented and thankful to Allah Almighty, who has given him beautiful life with very helpful family. This was commitment made by Ghulab to never complain to anyone about his condition and always to remain happy. Ghulab said, " From that day onwards my life style changed altogether and I even felt improvement in my performance and general conduct with everyone".

This was only state of mind, which had made Ghulab unhappy of his life, which he changed by his change of mind and by his commitment.

Why Hard work is Always Better than Begging

Hard work is the key to success. nothing in this world is impossible for a person who targets to achieve with commitment and hard work. If we give a fried fish to a person without any of his efforts, then he will become habitual of doing nothing and aging the benefit without hard work, but if we teach him how to catch a fish, and use it as his food, then he will be more benefitted and will never try to beg in front of anyone. We can justify this statement by the following story. There was a school in a village, where children of mostly poor communities were getting their education. No uniform code was there in this school and students used to come in any of their available dresses. Education standards were reasonable but the teachers of this school were very much committed to their job in grooming their students, especially with respect to general ethics. The poor people were earning their livings hardly but were committed to educating the next generation for a better future. One ...

Where There is a Will There is a Way

Where there is a will there is always a way. If anyone puts full commitment and effort to achieve any target, destiny will help him/her to get it. It is upon the person how dedicated he/she is to the achievement of his goal. Nothing in this world is impossible if the person engaged in its fulfillment shows true spirit and d edication. We can get an example of "Where there is will there is a way" which is mentioned in succeeding paragraphs.  There was a person who was a very good journalist and always worked with zeal and zest for his newspaper. He was so dedicated to his job that he always remained the backbone of his network. He had a wish to write a book of his own but he never got time for that. His commitment to his job was always appreciated by his seniors and the owner of his newspaper. One day when he woke up to go for his duty, he tried to get out of his bed but surprisingly he was unable to move. He became totally disabled and his whole body except his brain beca...

How Dress Speaks of One's Personality

Dress is having a great impact on the personality of a person and also decides how others will behave with him by getting an impression about him. People behave as if they get inspired by a person and his dressing plays the main role in this. One great example is as below. Shiekh Saadi was a great and well-known poet of Iran. He was very popular because of his poetry. One day he was going to the Court of King and on his way to the court, he had to stay in a house of a nobleman. He was simply dressed and was not recognized by the nobleman. The nobleman and his servant behaved with Shiekh Saadi in a very casual way, as they considered Saadi to be a poor man wearing a low-cost/ordinary dress. They didn’t show any kind of hospitality that Shiekh Saadi actually deserved Shiekh Saadi was very sad about their behavior. He went to the King’s Court. On his way back, Saadi had to again stay in the same house in which he previously stayed. Now, he wore elegant clothes. The nobleman and ...
