Why human is self-centered

It is mentioned once that there were three friends who were very fond of each other. People used to give examples of their friendship. All three friends grew up together studied in the same school and now used to do business together. They were very close friends. Their business was going very well. They were very hard working. But one day it happened and they started losing business. Their night sleep is forbidden. He tried hard to manage the business but gradually, the business came to a standstill.

Now the three of them were very worried and they were getting poorer day by day. They were unemployed and had no work to do. They thought they should go to the city and do business there. They packed their things and left for the city. Even on the way, there was a forest. The sun was setting and it was going to be night. The three of them thought why not stay here tonight. They put on their own beds and sat down. They were still sitting when after a while he saw a shining object.

As soon as they saw this shining object, they walked towards it and what they saw was nothing, but three gold bricks. They were very surprised but very happy. They saw hope to live. They thought that only now they will become rich and their household would be well-off. Now they could start a business out of it. So, they took one of their respective shares and went to their tents. The three friends divided bricks equally. As soon as it was time to leave, they were feeling very hungry. They decided that one of the three friends should go to town and bring food. A friend had gone to town to fetch food. And the other two friends sat in the forest and waited for him.

While going to a friend’s city, two friends sitting behind them became greedy. They thought why not kill the friend who had gone to the city and divided equally among themselves. Because in this way these three bricks will have two parts and we will be able to get maximum gold. So, both made a plan to kill him.

Similarly, the one who had gone to the city also started to get greedy in his heart. He thought why not kill the two friends sitting in this forest. So that he can keep more gold for himself. He mixed poison in the food. Now he was coming towards the forest with the food that the two friends were hiding to kill him who was already there. As soon as he arrived, these two friends attacked him and killed him. They divided the gold equally among themselves. After that, the two friends sat down and started eating. They could not bear the effect of the poison and pilled up there. Greed led to death. Those gold bricks remained there and were of no use to anyone.

Everyone knows God has made man the best of creation. But it is wealth that makes a person selfish and greedy.

Why Happiness is Considered the State of Mind

Happiness and satisfaction are the state of mind. It can never be assumed that a person is happy due to too much money or having plenty of facilities. We can never say that a person is happy after being well settled. Rather we generally see poor people more satisfied than the rich. Then what is the thing for the poor to retain him happy, this is inner satisfaction. In other words we can say, the state of mind which makes him happy and contented. We take an example of such condition. Ashfaq Ahmad, who was a very known writer of Pakistan says that he has served for several years in Radio Pakistan and got posted at various locations. He also remained posted at Gilgit Radio Station. It was a small office but in a beautiful place. There a person named Ghulab, who was a low paid employee at Gilgit Radio Station and was doing duty as a office boy. Ghulab always remained unhappy and worried by his appearance. We never saw him happy and contented. We thought him unhappy because of his financial...

Why Hard work is Always Better than Begging

Hard work is the key to success. nothing in this world is impossible for a person who targets to achieve with commitment and hard work. If we give a fried fish to a person without any of his efforts, then he will become habitual of doing nothing and aging the benefit without hard work, but if we teach him how to catch a fish, and use it as his food, then he will be more benefitted and will never try to beg in front of anyone. We can justify this statement by the following story. There was a school in a village, where children of mostly poor communities were getting their education. No uniform code was there in this school and students used to come in any of their available dresses. Education standards were reasonable but the teachers of this school were very much committed to their job in grooming their students, especially with respect to general ethics. The poor people were earning their livings hardly but were committed to educating the next generation for a better future. One ...
